Design education is the process of disseminating theoretical and applicable knowledge in the design of a product, setup, service or an environment. Design education is not all about the tools and techniques of design; rather, it imparts the knowledge to practice, nurture and inculcate creative ideas and transform those into form that people can “see and feel”.

Design education is a study of evolving nature. There are plenty of scopes for both the teacher and students to continuously innovate, experiment, and thereby generate new concepts. Design education also covers the study of applied and social behavioral sciences and understanding of human sensory systems as all these influence the design process. Design education also teaches the implication of business needs and utility or aftermath of a design so that student may become professionally skilled once he becomes a designer.
