This month sees the launch of an energetic rebrand from Holmfirth’s accountants Rogers & Co. featuring a snowboard, hulu hoop and set of sassy headphones…Not usually the items you’d expect to see in an accountant’s boardroom but as the team embrace a new direction for the business they've found their balance and put their lives on film.
Led by Huddersfield based creative design and branding agency, The Engine Room, these accessories quickly took on a life of their own and the results, all incorporated into the firm's new website, include photography of one of the directors snowboarding on the boardroom table!
Whole-heartedly committed to embracing a transformation that will help bring the company’s characters to life, and differentiate them from others in the industry, the Rogers & Co. team evolved energetically into their new identity with a new look, new name and strapline: Balance Accounting – 'Accountancy for Growth.'
The driving force behind the company’s dynamic new identity is Brand EngineTM, a service offered by The Engine Room to companies looking to really make their mark with their brand, using marketing strategy coupled with design that differentiates to help generate substantial business results.
This rebrand project, which ran over a 4 month period, involved running a review of the businesses operations to understand its best and worst performing income streams, along with dissecting the management team’s aspirations for business growth, to establishing an in-house design council to enhance internal communications and team morale.
From here the identity was borne along with the creative imagery, use of accent colour and playful language harnessed to reflect the team and the company values.
Director Ashley Barrowclough said: ”The Engine Room has worked really closely with every member of the team to get under the skin of each individual and to understand what we see our business as being all about. The name of Balance is perfect as it represents so many things from the work life balance we try to help clients achieve, to balancing of their books, to balancing the challenges of stability and growth.”
Darren Evans, Creative Director of The Engine Room said: “We are delighted with how the rebrand has been received - it has injected new energy into the team and given them renewed confidence which will help them move forward. It also makes them stand out in a traditional sector – They’d always said they were different but now clients can see that for themselves. We wanted to illustrate their human touch, and hope this will appeal to companies looking for professional, friendly, partnership-oriented support as they move through their business challenges”.
As a result of the rebrand and strategy work carried out by The Engine Room, Rogers & Co. not only have a new name and new marketing materials, but are also launching new services, having honed their offer to more closely support their key audience of regional SMES, at different stages in their business lives. This came as a result of the fundamentals of the business operations being reviewed and restructured as part of the project to further strengthen the company's identity.
The results of the rebrand can be seen at www.balanceonline.co.uk where you can also connect to the team via LinkedIn and follow their blog.
The Engine Room is made up of a team of graphic designers, strategists, marketeers and brand consultants. Based in the Media Centre in Huddersfield clients include UK Medical, UFP, Finance Yorkshire and numerous SME businesses across the region.
