About Duncan of Jordanstone and College of Art and Design
Duncan of Jordanstone and College of Art and Design was established as part of the Dundee Institute of Art and Technology in 1892 and became an autonomous institution in 1975 before merging with the University of Dundee in 1996. It is regarded as one of the top Colleges of Art and Design in Britain. There are approximately 1000 undergraduate, taught Masters and research postgraduate students. As part of a modern University, students and staff at DJCAD can take advantage of all that a large educational institution has to offer, whilst retaining the special ethos of a Scottish College of Art.
